APS Bank’s chief officer Noel McCarthy presented awards to young footballers during the 2015/2016 Youth Football Association’s annual presentation night held at The Palace hotel in Sliema.
Mr McCarthy said: “Even though football is seen as a competitive sport, it should also be celebrated for its uniting aspect. This yearly event is proof of how football can also bring together supporters of different teams to celebrate together.”
YFA president Hilary Tagliaferro thanked APS for supporting the organisation for over 14 years.
Today, the association enjoys the participation of 49 nurseries from across the Maltese islands. By the end of the 2015/2016 season, 863 games had been played, involving more than 8,000 children between the ages of six and 16.
