Christmas concert

A concert featuring Christmas music is taking place today in Mqabba. Organised by the Band Commission within Our Lady of the Lily Musical Society of Mqabba in collaboration with Aġenzija Żgħażagħ and parish priest Fr John Curmi, the concert is being held in a beautiful medieval building dating back to the 16th century which is situated in the village core. Local musicians and students within the society’s school of music under the direction of Andrew Calleja will perform several musical pieces and other literary works related to the birth of Christ. These include Adeste Fidelis, All I Want for Christmas is You, Ninu Ninu tal-Milied, Little Drummer Boy, O Holy Night, Ninni la Tibkix Iżjed, Silent Night and others. Soprano Doreen Camilleri will also be taking part. ■ The concert is taking place today at 6.45pm at St Basil’s church in Mqabba. Entrance is free.
