Festa Tfal in Naxxar

A special feast for children is being held in Naxxar for the first time ever on Thursday, in the run-up to the parish’s celebrations of The Nativity of Our Lady on September 8. Preparations for this event kicked off in January when two singing festivals were organised with the winners of each set to perform during Festa Tfal. Krista Sujak will open the feast by singing an Ave Maria written by Bernice Sujak with music from the musical La Novia live at 5.30pm. Accompanied by the musicians and students playing festive marches, the children will then walk down from the club’s premises to the chapel of St Lucy where blessings will be bestowed by Fr James Saydon. During this special feast, the Banda Vittorja will see another six members joining its ranks. Playing as part of the band for the first time are Britney Zammit, Anthea Scicluna and Pavel Cuschieri on the clarinet, Melania Camilleri and Jodi Scicluna on the trumpet, and Nigel Spiteri on percussion. Following this, the band will march back to the club playing music all the while with the children joining in the celebration.
