A ‘funky’ night of alternative music

Funky Monkey at Manoel Island is hosting a music night with a difference on Wednesday. First up are Upper Lip, a rock band from Gozo influenced by the great bands of the golden years of rock. Formed in 2013, Upper Lip has played gigs in various bars and clubs on both islands as well as participating in various festivals and events. The band is currently working on its first singles, which are to be released soon. They will be followed by René Farrugia, also known as DJ Hades. He started his musical journey over 25 years ago and has for the last 13 years also been running Hades Events, Malta’s only gothic promotion. His musical influences vary from dark wave to classic metal to industrial to electro and also other alternative styles. The event starts at 9pm and entrance can be paid at the door.
