The religious heritage of Vittoriosa

Vittoriosa was forever transformed by the arrival of the Knights of St John in 1530. A religious community already in existence there – the Dominican Order – found itself rubbing shoulders with Greek refugees, building their own churches. This led to an enriched religious heritage in Vittoriosa. A tour today will follow the trail of the Knights of St John in the city, focusing on the convergence of religious lives, architectural styles and traditions. The tour will be given by expert Vincent Zammit, and is being organised by Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar. The walk leaves the main entrance of Vittoriosa today at 7pm.
