Wine festival in Gozo

The Delicata Classic Wine Festival is back in Gozo for its 14th year this weekend. It is taking place at Ġnien il-Kunsill, Nadur, a location which also offers breathtaking views of the Malta-Gozo channel over the Nadur Valley. Visitors will be able to sample over 20 of Delicata’s DOK and IGT Maltese wines, including Victoria Heights of Gozo, Gran Cavalier, Grand Vin de Hauteville, Medina, Classic Collection, Dolcino and many more. Entrance is free. To try the wines, upon entrance to the gardens, patrons purchase a wristband for the night and a souvenir glass, which they are then free to keep. Expertly-prepared cuisine will also be available from various food stalls set up by Gozo’s leading caterers, including barbecue food, suckling pig, traditional Gozitan ftajjar (Gozitan flat loaf), fresh baguettes, French crêpes and favourite Chinese dishes. Top Maltese and Gozitan bands will be performing throughout the three nights, including Straight Ahead, MAE and Gozo Boy on Friday, Pierre Cordina and Upper Lip on Saturday, and Cash and Band and D Capital on Sunday.
