Those who like to take in Malta’s natural surroundings on foot can join a ramble of the Lippija area this Sunday.
The walk is built around the enjoyment of the environment, socialising, relaxing and keeping fit. This Sunday’s trek is being held on Malta’s northwest coast.
The rendezvous point is the Mġarr church at 7pm from where the group will proceed by car to the starting point just outside the village.
Departure from the church is scheduled for 7.30pm sharp.
The route takes the participants through open country, across garigue land to a vantage point overlooking Ġnejna bay from where they may enjoy the enchanting setting sun and panoramic vistas stretching all the way to Gozo.
The walk will also take in various interesting historical features.
As dusk sets in, torches are switched on and the convoy of ramblers will continue on its way along the undulating circular course through some exciting topography.
The Sunday evening treks are organised by Leisure Ventures and are free of charge.
They are held away from the urban sprawl and on open high ground, as much as possible, to make the most of the pleasant, cool, summer evening breezes.
