Black Sabbath’s final gig

Eden Cinemas is tomorrow showing Black Sabbath: The End of the End, a documentary that chronicles the final tour of the legendary band. Since their beginnings in 1968, Black Sabbath created a sound that would form the basis of heavy metal and influence bands all over the world. On February 4, the band took to the stage in Birmingham, England, to play the 81st and final gig of The End tour, bringing down the curtain on a career that spanned almost half a century. This film takes fans into the heart of the action, up close and personal with the band on stage as they perform genre-defining hits, from Iron Man to Paranoid to War Pigs, at the Birmingham concert. Through behind-the-scenes footage and studio recordings, the documentary also gives fans an intimate glimpse into the band’s relationships, together with individual and group recollections from Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler. The film is directed by Dick Carruthers who was behind Led Zeppelin, Celebration Day and Imagine Dragons: Smoke + Mirrors Live.
