The Network of Young Women Leaders has teamed up with photography director and producer Steven Levi Vella to initiate the project Artemisia: 100 Remarkable Women, dedicated to making women’s stories more visible and offering alternative role models to those ever-present in popular culture.
The project highlights the breadth of female achievement in order to offer inspiration for future generations.
The NGO has carefully selected 100 women who are currently pioneers in their respective fields and Levi Vella has taken black and white portraits of each one.
Artemisia: 100 Remarkable Women was established to provide alternative and accessible role models for girls. By telling stories of women from all background and careers, it aims to show girls all the ways in which they can find success and fulfilment despite the challenges and experiences women face to achieve their goals.
The Network of Young Women Leaders was set up to promote and encourage the participation of young women in leadership, with a special focus on the political sphere.
The exhibition, which opened on Tuesday, runs until tomorrow at The Antoine De Paul Hall, San Anton Palace, Attard. Viewing times from 10am to 4pm.
