Rock and metal festival

The first edition of the Rock the Rock (RTR) Music Festival is being held this weekend in Ta’ Qali. The festival will boast a multi-stage set up: one dedicated to the metal genre, another to rock and another one to host various local bands performing varying genres such as alternative rock and acoustic sets. Each day there will be a minimum of two headlining acts (one on each of the metal and rock stages) with about four local bands supporting them, for a total of around 16 bands per night. The festival will also host several attractions such as two pro-wrestling shows per night, daily medieval re-enactments, artesian stalls, a beer garden, several food stalls and also a dedicated children’s area. In line with the biggest international music festivals, there will also be a camping area for festivalgoers. The metal stage will be headlined by Mayhem, Entombed AD and Vader over the three days, while 1970s legends Focus!, Ray Wilson (Genesis) and Lucifer’s Friend will headline the rock stage.
