Inmates join top Maltese artists to raise funds for ALS research

A fundraising concert aimed at collecting money towards research for the neuro-degenerative disease ALS and improving the lives of those with ALS, as well as giving a second possibility to those who may have committed a crime in the past, is being held on August 27. INMATES4ALS is being organised in aid of ALS Malta by Mid-Dlam Għad-Dawl, a non-governmental organisation whose main aim is that of assisting prisoners, ex-prisoners and their families to undergo the prison experience with more dignity and self-esteem. It is the first joint event held between residents at the Corradino rehabilitation facility and an outside voluntary organisation. The concert will bring together Malta’s top commercial and pop artists, including winners of the local Eurovision song contest Mary Spiteri, Chiara and Mike Spiteri. The young and talented Destiny Chukunyere, who won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, will also perform, as will Brooke and Christabelle. Maltese singer Ozzy Lino, whose impromptu performance on the Frankfurt underground with singers Kiddo Kat and Heidi Joubert of the classic song Kiss by Prince went viral last April, will delight with his energetic vibe.
